K&M Uniforms is the sole provider of approved uniform attire, with noted exception.*
Optional outerwear for all students allowed to be worn on campus, during the school day:
- Black fleece jacket (full or half-zipper with CN Monogram);
- Crewneck black sweater (CN Monogram);
- V-neck black sweater (CN Monogram);
- Letter jacket;
- Black Nylon fleece-lined, hooded jacket (CN Monogram);
- *Approved outerwear items purchased through Cardinal Newman Spirit Store: Embroidered Appliqué Throw Back Sweatshirt (black, white or ash); Embroidered Appliqué Throw Back Hooded Sweatshirt (black, white or ash); Screen-printed Throw Back Hooded Sweatshirt (white or ash); and
- Cardinal Newman Athletic Department-Approved Team outerwear

UNIFORM CODE for BOYS
Formal Uniform
Must be worn for all special assemblies, including Masses, and for most field trips
- Pants: khaki, pleated or flat front, no cuff
- Shirt: white Oxford cloth, long or short sleeve; tucked in at all times—CN Monogram
- Tie: black/red stripe
- Socks: solid black or solid brown
- Shoes: Leather dress shoes - black, brown, cordovan, or natural leather color
NO BOOTS OF ANY KIND (Boots are defined as any shoes that are NOT cut below the bottom of the ankle); laces should be a matching color; heel height may not exceed 1 inch. NO SANDALS, FLIP-FLOPS, OR BACKLESS/TOELESS SHOES OF ANY KIND
- Belt: plain black or brown belt (no insignia)
- No outerwear (jackets, sweatshirts, etc.) may be worn indoors with the formal uniform.
Informal Uniform
May be worn at any time except on Formal Uniform days
- Pants: khaki, pleated or flat front, no cuff OR
- Shorts: khaki, pleated or flat front, no cuff
- Shirt:
Junior High: WHITE only short banded sleeve or long sleeve polo with CN Monogram
Grades 9, 10, 11: RED or GREY short banded sleeve polo with CN Monogram
SENIORS: BLACK POLO SHIRT—CN MONOGRAM
- Socks: Solid - white, black, brown
- Shoes:
Athletic: 1) all black or 2) white with minimal black, red, or gray logos or trim
Leather Dress Shoes: black, brown, cordovan, or natural leather color

- Skirt: red/black plaid, box pleat (HEMMED NO MORE THAN TWO INCHES ABOVE KNEE CAP)
- Shirt: white Oxford cloth, long or short sleeve—CN Monogram FOR GRADES 8-12.
Seventh graders are required to wear the new overblouse and the black sweater or sweater vest. - Socks/Stockings: Solid black knee socks or solid black tights
- Shoes: Leather Dress Shoes – black or brown
NO BOOTS OF ANY KIND - Boots are defined as any shoes that are NOT cut below the bottom of the ankle; laces should be a matching color; heel height may not exceed 2 inches. NO SANDALS, FLIP-FLOPS, OR BACKLESS/TOELESS SHOES OF ANY KIND - Optional for grades 8-12: Crewneck black sweater –CN Monogram; V-neck black sweater—CN Monogram; red/black tie

- Skort: Khaki from K&M Uniform (Hemmed NO MORE than 3 INCHES ABOVE the KNEE CAP)
NOTE: Seventh graders MUST purchase the new-style skort. Grades 8-12 may purchase the old-style skort from in stock. K & M will NOT place orders for the old-style skorts. OR - Pants: Khaki K & M Uniform, pleated or flat front, no cuff OR
- Shorts: Khaki from K & M Uniform, pleated or flat front, no cuff
- Shirt:
Junior High: WHITE short banded sleeve or long sleeve polo with CN Monogram
Grades 9, 10, 11: GREY or RED short banded sleeve polo with CN monogram

- Shoes: Athletic – 1) all black or 2) white with minimal black, red, or gray logos or trim
- Leather Dress Shoes: black, brown, cordovan, or natural leather color
NO SANDALS, FLIP-FLOPS, OR BACKLESS/TOELESS SHOES or RAINBOOTS OF ANY KIND. NO BOOTS - Boots are defined as any shoes that are NOT cut below the bottom of the ankle;laces should be a matching color; heel height may not exceed 2 inches. The exception to this rule is as follows: Solid color black or brown Uggs-style. Boots may be worn with solid-color white, black, or brown socks ONLY during the months of January and February.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALL STUDENTS
- Hair must be kept neat, clean and well-groomed.
- Boy’s hair MUSTS: Not be longer than the top of a regular-cut shirt collar when the collar is buttoned; Be off the eyebrows; and Not cover the ears.
- For both girls and boys, hairstyles, jewelry and colors should be simple and appropriate for school. (Multiple necklaces and hemp-style necklaces are not permitted).
- For boys, no facial hair is permitted; thus, all must shave whenever needed. No sideburns below the top of the earlobe.
- For both girls and boys, no hats or any other kind of hair covering is to be worn inside ANY building on campus during the school day.
- Boys may not wear earrings at any time on school property or at any school-sponsored event.
- Girls are permitted two post-style earrings per ear in the lobe only. (no cartilage piercing)
- Girls may not wear dangling earrings with the formal uniform.
- No visible piercing of any other body part is permitted.
- No tattoos or excessive writing in ink or pencil on the skin are permitted.
- No chains attached to belt loops or wallets are permitted.
- Shirts must be tucked in at all times while students are on campus including before school, at lunch, and after school hours.
- Students are to remain in uniform while on school property unless they are changed for a team practice. Students are not to change into non-uniform apparel before leaving school for the day.
Please Note: Except in the specified instances, any violation of the above will warrant disciplinary action.
DRESS DOWN DAYS GENERAL GUIDELINES
On days designated as “dress down” days, the following general guidelines exist:
- No torn jeans
- No t-shirts with offensive language (reference to alcohol or drugs, also)
- No short-shorts/soffees
- No tank-tops/spaghetti straps
- No sandals or flip-flops
